"The bolts fell out of the compresser again, so I am thinking those vibrations are really getting old! I watched Robert wedge, and tighten those bolts." This was a problem on my conversion before I bought it. The owner took it to the installer, Ed Rogers of Vee Dub in Ogden, UT, and Ed put lock washers on everything that COULD vibrate/loosen. No problem since and this now has over 10K on it. "There is oil on the ground, about coffee can sized, under the muffler." Guessing here: the engine oil filler hole in the valve cover and the valve cover are in that area. Could be that when the engine is running, due to either loose filler cap gasket, or rocker cover gasket, oil pressure is forcing oil out of the loosest place, and that may be the filler-cap or valve cover on that end of the engine. Valve cover may just need tightening to snug up the gasket. "It was leaking coolant the other day from around where the transmission meets the engine, but more to the driver side. It doesn't seem to leak while not running, only when the engine is on." There are a couple large coolant lines coming into the engine compartment from that side (drivers) with clamps, joining the steel to the ribber. Mine have a slight weep residue but don't drip. I can just barely make out the coolant color around the end of the rubber hose where it joins the steel lines. I suspect eventually I'll replace the current clamps with screw-type. This may be where your coolant leak is coming from and can easily be checked by lifting the engine lid and looking on the forward/left side of the engine. ...my $.02 Wishing you the best, Bob Stevens '87 Syncro Westy TIICO
