He did ground the lights independently as well.

He also de-corroded my fuse box.  I believe this was the cause of my
accessories (heater blowers) staying on after I shut the van off and
removed the key.

Now maybe if I check out the grounds on my engine it will get the fuel
consumption above 15MPG.

This is all to true.  Without all the extra wire, you can make a 200%
improvement by adding a extra ground wire to the existing light.
