Go to your local FLAPs and buy 3500 lb epoxy. I got some, its in a black plastic tube, but I lost the header card showing the brand. The tube says "plastic weld system". Nasty, nasty smelling stuff. A buddy of mine who is a pretty good auto body guy uses this all the time to repair minor breaks in headlight mounting assemblies, etc. He swears by it. It's grind able, drillable, etc. I referenced JB Weld, and he laughed. Said this is many times better. It will only cost a couple of bucks (about $4) to find out. Might be worth a try.

I am also getting to know my new TIG welder. Being a diesel guy, I don't think I have T-piece around to check out, but this has got to be pretty similar to welding up bicycle frames, which is what I got the TIG for. Two main differences would be that the tubing wouldn't have to be as thin, but large holes would have to be cut before each joint. I would be willing to experiment a bit, providing the time frame is not too rushed. One of my main concerns would be getting the small lip on the ends that helps to hold the hose on. On my TDI conversion I just brazed a small piece of wire on there as I made piping, but that is pretty time consuming. Another would be materials. I would tend towards steel and then have them powder coated. That would have to outlast pretty much any van still on the road today.

Hi All, I also need one of these pieces. I tried to order like 3wks ago, came up with the same results. Mine leaks, I temp. fixed it with some radiator repair stuff that looks like clay and hardens. But the other day I saw a few drops on the ground, so I think it might be starting to leak thru the stuff I put over it. If anyone comes up with any ideas on how to make these, or something they should let me know too!!!!!! thanx, Have fun, Tracy 85' GL "Ripple" The Old Volks Home <oldvolkshome@EARTHLINK.NET> wrote:At 05:24 PM 1/15/03 EST, Dieter Thiessen wrote: >Need part # 025 121 438 double T piece fits between coolant resorvoir and >hose that goes to head. I have a source that can repro this in the original plastic, but I have a hankering to have this done in brass. I'll even accept one with a crack (not broken apart tho) as I just need it for a pattern. I can have them ready in 3 to 5 months. C'mon, someone out there has to have this piece.....
