Perhaps a collective of list vendors?

I have heard this rumour too. He does not exist but is in fact a mythical van owner created by a conspiracy of list vendors.

The idea was to create someone who spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on their van, thus encouraging the rest of us to ALSO spend thousands upgrading our vehicles. Howevever the joke is on them.

It has been said that a boat is a hole in the water surrounded by wood into which one pours money. Vanagons fall into the same category, mythical spenders or not.

Thanks, Chris
