Hi guys read this post thought I'd include...........my 85' GL has 330,000 miles on him. According to all the paperwork I got with him, he drove a previous owner to Oregon and back, looks as though he got stuck in Oregon for a little while, had the engine replaced, and drove it back home to CT. I think that he might have been on tour with the Grateful Dead, engine was done in 93' , tranny rebuild, clutch replacement in 92'. GD was on a tour that sort of followed the reciepts of work done along the way. Total new miles on the new engine were about 80,000. But when I got "Ripple" the spedo wasn't working and even though 80,000 were accounted for , I dunno how long the spedo was unplugged, soooo who knows how many miles are not accounted for.  Ya know what though, ! He still runs like a top. Haven't had really any major problems yet. ( I probably jinxed myself now) But Ripple is my daily driver, and he won't leave me stranded. I have faith in my bus. I try to keep up on everything to keep him happy.
Ya know whats cool though, is for the amount of miles on him, the body is mint, and so is pretty much everything else. Before I did all the remodleing, and restoring, it wasn't really too hurt up. Someone kept him happy.........................
