Eric, I have to agree about the platinum plugs. I would like David's39;s input on this if he is reading. There is no way a high resistant plug can over tax a coil. It will shoot its wad, no more or no less and it does not care what is at the other end unless what is at the other end is too much of a tease to allow anything to happen(to high of a resistance). On the other hand I am not a advocant of the platinum plugs. It real advantage is that it does not degrade under an electrical connection. This means that you do not need to regap them nor replace them. This is a bad deal as I like to change my plugs to prevent them from seizing to the heads. I go with the chBoschosch on sale and change them every two years just so I can keep them from fixing to the head. Not too fond of hjobsjpbs either. John, That was I who said they eat coils. How do you explain multiple Vanagon that have had this problem. I've fix at least 10 other, (that is completely different Vanagon) with this problem! Eric
