Subject: '91 Westy FS - Condition Report
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Well, I finally got to take close look at my neighbor's 1991 Westy that's going on the market and here's the scoop:

--Specifications-- 1991 (10/90) VW Westfalia GL 2.1 liter - 4 Speed - A/C

--The Good-- 80,000 miles It's all there, table tops, screens, curtains, etc. Interior will be very nice (after a very thorough cleaning). Top is in excellent condition. Runs great. With a very thorough cleaning and about $1,500 of paint and body work this will be a very clean camper. It's a '91!

--The Bad-- Panel behind driver's door has a 4" deep 36" across crease. Small dent in right front corner. Front fiberglass bumper cover is badly cracked (right front). Very dirty inside, my first reaction was "ah crap". I think something moved in the refrigerator when I looked inside. Wrong tires. No alloys. Not currently registered (see why below).

--The Ugly-- This is from my neighbor's mother-in-law's estate. The will is being contested by the black sheep of the family which means the courts have gotten involved. Any offers made on this vehicle have to be approved by the court before the sale can be completed.

I'm going to give it a go myself, however, if the owner isn't interested in my pathetically low offer, I'm more than happy to pass the info on to any interested parties.

Cheers,

Jeff
