Please tell me my van isn't haunted... It's *£@*$% cold here in Portland, Maine. So cold, in fact, that my van is being extremely grumpy and won't crank fast enough to start the engine. I've been jumping and flooding and causing all sorts of excitement the past few days, but the only thing that seems to do anything is the weather, which has been getting warmer (in the 20's today!). So the situation is getting better, and as soon as I get it started I'm going to get new battery cables and the starter checked. But the real mystery is this....when I'm trying to start the car without success for quite some time, there' comes a strange little melodic series of beeps. It sounds much like it's coming from the left of the steering wheel, down by the fusebox. What is going on? some sort of warning that I've flooded the engine? The stereo freaking out? (it is kind of near the speaker...) I"ve noticed the same phenomenon when trying to start with a soggy distributor cap. Anyone?
