If you run out of vanagon repair projects, you can check out this. If you live in the PNW, you might be interested in the bald eagle migration by the Skagit River. We just spent a weekend camping with our westy at Miller Skagit County Park. There are plug-in sites for those who want to use an electric heater. We used our plat cat, and it kept us warm. The park is right on the river with many waterfront sites. Early in the morning you can watch the bald eagles fly by from the comfort of your westy. There is an upcoming Eagle Festival Feb 1-2. We're planning to spend another day then. Another really great place to visit this time of the year is the Skagit Valley to watch the snow geese and trumpeter swan migration. Thousands and thousands of snow white geese are feeding on fields, and often you can see large clouds of the birds flying overhead. It was a truly amazing sight to behold. They come all the way from Siberia. If you want more info on vw traveling in the PNW, you can go here: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/vw-camping/ It's a new email list for those interested in nature excursions and traveling info in the PNW.
