As well as the other good suggestions (heater blower, foam seals in heater unit, checking heater for leaks), lubricate/check the bushings on the pedal assembly. Oh and why not put some sound deadening pads on the sheet metal too?

And another thing :), its slightly easier to check the electrical grounding points too!
