Forwarded from http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/vw-camping/ Hi Dale, The fall run of chum salmon is the reason the eagles congregate at the Skagit River in the winter. The peak times are supposed to be around mid-January to early February, but it varies from year to year. Swans and snow geese arrive in the Skagit Valley in late October and leave mid-March. Some snow geese stay until mid-April. The snow geese seemed the most dramatic, particularly because of their large numbers. There are some useful links in some posts on the archives of http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/vw-camping/ Harald
