Matt, Maybe on newer engines such as this the following practice is taboo for some reason, but on every car I've ever owned the standard practice for tracking down a vac leak is to spray carb cleaner about the engine in places that are suspect. When the engine RPM increases, you know the carb cleaner has been ingested, and you can ascertain that wherever you last sprayed is a vac leak. I assume there must be some reason you're not using this method, though. If you are someone capable of an engine swap, I feel it unlikely a shade-tree hack like myself could teach you something.
