I had the same problem back in the fall when I replaced my front blower.
Must have shaken the instrument cluster up a bit and the bulb went bad.  Got
it at the local VW dealership... wasn't bad price wise, although I did have
to get a bunch of other bulbs for the Van and Passat as well.  If I recall
correctly they had to order it since it wasn't a standard stocked bulb.
