Since the monitor would be used for the overlay info only while under way (not for video viewing), why not put as much useful info on it as possible? The microcontroller is capable of displaying all of the functions concurrently, it's only limitation is the amount of text it can display, not the quantity of inputs. Even if I separated the functions into separate black boxes, I would still need to build the circuits to interface to the sensors. Here is a better example of what I am looking for: http://www.flyheli.de/english/eel_airtel6.htm I can use my TV tuner to switch between broadcast TV, DVD/PS-2, VHS and rearview camera inputs as needed and can patch in the overlay unit to cover each or all of the inputs on either monitor.
