* how do i replace the cabinet speakers? i can't figure out how to get
them out.* They have big plastic nuts on them if they are the round VW
speakers, get to them from the backside and turn the speaker face from
outside the cabinet. For a quicker understanding, look at the front door
speakers .

* the tent is in pretty bad shape. for now, i have to make do. what's
the best kind of tape for the canvas? *
Iron on patches for Kaki pants works good, back up the canvas with a wood
cutting board and iron them on the tears.
*i'm going to sew some screening over the old stuff unless there's a
better way to repair it. i can afford a
new tent, but it looks like the labor on it would be more expensive than
the tent. who replaces tents and what does it cost?* Clear silicone
works good for small tears and holes in the screen openings. Makes a spot
but it holds good. Apply thin and scrape off the excess so it will fold.
A complete drying cycle is several days - don't rush it. A hair dryer
might help if you just gotta fold it quick.

* no water tank key, so i bought a replacement hookup. took the screws
out of the old one, but it's still immovable. is the lock mechanism
keeping it in place? or do i need to force it?* There is a nut on the
inside of the lock, PIA but take the filler box off, remove the big hose
and you can get to the nut. Its probably caluking or sealer that is
holding the old square port, carefully pry it out and you'll see the big
plastic fill hose, remove the clamp and hose and the nut on the lock can
be seen. You can have a key made about the same price as a new lock with
two keys. You can take the lock to a VW dealer and he might be able to
match up keys and cut some for you (I've per chance found that both my
gas key and water fill key fit many other vans as well.)

* i replaced the faucet, but the washer under it is in pieces. any way
to get a new one?* There are several different faucets used. Mine screws
down from the top with three screws. If the drain is broken remove it and
repair it with J-B Weld. Be sure you sand everything real good to get a
bond. Might work for that ??? Washer too.
