I should chime in on this one. Our van had the Behr unit in the van when we got it, even had the original radio relocation box. When we got tired of the radio doing funny things because of the heat it took sitting right below the vents we wanted to move up to a CD player. CD players don't like sitting at a almost vertical angle, so other options were needed. Went to the local stereo shop and picked up a roof top mounting pod for the deck to fit into. I removed the headliner and cut a hole for this pod to fit through. A royal PITA to run the wires properly up the a and b pillars. Also a little awkward to change a CD, but otherwise pretty clean in use. I can e-mail pics if anyone would like to see it. Got this idea from a friends use of a "cockpit" style headliner CB/speaker mounting in a pickup. Mark 82 Westy |
