Subject: Another Cold Start Question.....need help
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

I too have the dreaded cold start problem. I have read all your posts (thank you) and sometimes get a little confused about how to go about fixing my van (I am new to the vanagon game). The van I just bought (90 Westy) has a new engine/plugs/wires/vacuum lines/K&N air filter/fuel filter/battery/exhaust etc....basically everything is new exept for the orig fuel injection stuff (AFM, Idel stab, etc). It runs great once it warms up. It is hard to start in the cold weather (I have to hold the accelerator to the floor while cranking the starter until it catches which can take a while).

From what I understand (base on the archives and emails), I should look at the idle control valve (mine hums?), temp I and Temp II sensors to fix my cold start problem.....does that sound right?

Thanks very much for any help on the subject.

Regards,

Jason D. 90 Westy in the cold Northeast
