My '89 S-15 Jimmy turned out to be rolled back 50K miles back in the early '90s, according to CARFAX. On top of that, I found this out through someone who was going to buy it from me and had already put down earnest money. Oy gevalt.

However, the PO did put in a new 4.3, which now has 35K on it, and I've kept it well-maintained, so I guess the vehicle is worth more to me kept than sold. That juicy 4.3 sure would look good in the back of my Vgon anyway.

Lesson: always run a CARFAX before you buy something, because you never know what will happen when you try to sell it later. Trust me, you REALLY don't want to get burned like I did.

Sam
