This can be a tricky proposition. If not done with adequate bracing, you don't want to be in that seat when the van is hit from the rear. The rear bulk head which normally supports these seats are welded on both sides with a rolled edge to add rigidity.

Chris, you can use the seat (lap) belts on the 2-person middle bench in a regular van. The belts bolt onto the same holes that he regualr apsseger seats attach to. The middel passenger belt latch bolts to the driver's side seat belt attachment point. At least this is how it is set-up in two on my vehciles as delivered. I also observed this in my buddy's 2 other dokas.
