It is, and it's also a 1980's design. It's a van body installed on a truck chassis, not a unibody van like all other minivans, which is probably why most folks don't like it. 2003 is probably the last year of production. Personally, I don't like any American vehicles, but unless Mercedes starts shipping their Westfalia conversion (see http://members.aol.com/johnbmtl/Bros.html) to the US I'm out of luck!

Is the GMC Safari the same vehicle as the Chevy Astro? If so, you may want to read some Astro reviews before considering this. I've never seen anyone express a positive view of the Astro.
