Only thing I can figure is the transaxle has a problem but intermittently? ---------------------- Clip ------------------ I doubt that. I'd shoot more towards a dry / broken / worn CV that gets quiet when you unload it. Could even just be a few CV mounting bolts loose. Drive very close to a tall brick wall (back of Albertsons works for me) and see if it isn't right in the wheel area. You can also just reach under there and grab the axle and check for play in the workings. Take a look and let us know.
