I picked up my 1990 (really is a 1991, but it was a Cali car) Westy Multivan in the San Fransisco area for $15,000. Sounds like a lot, particularly since it didn't have working AC and the tires needed replacing. The body and interior were perfect and it was a two-owner car with only had 88,000 miles. It had all repair receipts since new, and had just recently had the cylinder heads refurbished (post corrosion and leak), much cooling system work, and a transmission rebuild. I felt that all of the major mechanical stuff that normally went wrong had already gone wrong and was fixed properly. With normal maintenance I'm expecting to get many years out of this car without a lot of fuss, and I can tackle the AC work and a few other bits of minor repair.

Cheers. Rob
