It's still clever. ;)

He reminds me of my grandpa, an old farmer and tinkerer.  I swear there's
nothing he can't build or fix with 2x12's, pipe, angle iron, and a welder.
He's got the kind of instinctive feel for mechanical stuff that I can
never hope to match.
