I agree...one quart per 1500 miles isn't bad at all. Some car companies consider it in spec for brand new cars. Most aircooled folks would be ecstatic if their oil consumption was that low. Do a compression check and if your compression's okay, just feed its habit.

(My '75 was using a quart every 1000 miles with 45,000 miles on a "VW of Canada" rebuild.)
