Might I propose the following as the new Vanagon wave: take out your wallet, roll down your window, and throw some cash out the window! It would be universally understood by vanagon owners everywhere! :)

Seriously, I have spent lots of time on the road in my westy (RVC) and other vehicles, and always help out the truckers by flashing headlights at them to let them know when they've cleared me during a pass. Most of them say "thanks" with some combination of running lights, clearance lights, turn indicators, etc. I always get amazed how many different combinations there can be. I almost wonder if some guys actually get a setup wired in, where they can just hit a button on the dash that sets off several lights in order.
