Ironically, the only person who ever waved at me (in my '87 Westy) was an elderly lady in her new-ish EV Winnebago. But I thought it was really cool so I beeped and waved back.

I miss the early 90's when Miatas had just come out and us Miata drivers would secretly salute each other by popping the headlights up and down with the center console button...the lights would raise but not illuminate. Slick. (Or maybe just cheesy...but fun nonetheless.)
