Stan, my 1.5 hour estimate was for a dash removal and replacement only, and by someone who has done them before. I figure .5 to get a dash out, 1.0 to put it back. The heater removal is something else. Cracking one open and replacing parts and seals takes much more time. The point was that getting to a dash A/C unit is not such a big deal. I don't know why you had problems with the horn. I don't remove the steering wheel or horn button. After I remove the 2 shear bolts I clamp vise grips below the steering column coupler to keep it from coming out of it's rubber bushings and then I remove the 2 lower bolts so the whole steering wheel/column tips away from the dash. The stalk wiring is not disturbed either.
