Several postings regarding "Sqealing belts" have got my attention.


Try applying Friars Balsam!  It's an all natural tonic that is available on most pharmacy and natural food stores.  It's often used by rock climbers as a "dip" for their hands, before applying chalk.  It's just about the stickiest and sweetest smelling stuff imaginable.  And, it won't go flying all over the place when you strat the engine, cause it's THAT sticky.


Just put a few drops on the pulleys and a few drops on the belts. It's very fluid, but not for long.  Once it sets, it sets.  If you don't like it, just wash it off with a quick rinse of cold water, cause it's very water-soluble.


Not only does it rid you of the sqealing, you also get an amazing balsam smell when the engine is running.
