Probably best to use a spare battery from a Westy unless you have a solar battery charger and have plenty of daylight. Best way to test it if you don't have a volt meter would be to touch both cables to your tongue. A sharp snap and smell of burning flesh is a sure sign that your battery still has enough juice to get you going. If you just get a mild jolt and trembling of your arms and legs, then you may be in for a long night. Cook up your fish meal by the campfire and be ready to spend the night. If you have a healthy battery, it should generate enough of a charge to get you going again the next day.
