Shouldn't a '78 have hydraulic lifters? Adjust accordingly.

Subject: 1987 Bay, with type IV air-cooled FI engine, solid lifters. Question: Valve setting .006 do these things ever get real quiet or should I always hear some chatter? I'd expect some noise when its cold and I've got that. After idling for 15 minutes; Shouldn't they get quieter. I know they do on the 66 Splittie.
