Can anyone help identify the source of the buzz, is it the solenoid carrying continuous high current due to a stuck ignition switch or the starter itself due to a stuck solenoid? If so, why doesn't it turn? Maybe the starter itself is stuck?

Maybe, but in any case I want to take it to the dealer (I have no proper place to work on my van nor proper tools), just that from past experience they tend to "replace everything" instead of a real problem analysis with just the defective parts replaced, at my expense...:-( That's why I like to come prepared and "help" them do the right service...

===== Cheers, T-man.
