Subject: Friday Fishwrap: Catch FISH w/ your Vanagon's BATTERY
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Optima or Diehard? The choice is yours. Though the fish may OPT for DIEhard, just about any car battery will work.

Should you ever find yourself next to a body of water w/o any fishing gear, try this. Get your jumper cables. Take out your battery (aux. battery preferred in Westies). Or just connect jumper cables if you can get close enough to the water. When you spy a fish, ZAP. Works like a stun gun.

I've observed this in person as a child growing up in a third world country. I couldn't remember how they insulated themselves or even if they did.

So there you have today's Friday Fishwrap (hello Herb Caen). This is also a terrific way to catch Austrian FISH. More on that in next Friday's news.
