I doubt that the slightly lower engine position on the Syncro would have a significant effect on the hoses. The only other variable is the coolant expansion tank, but I think this mounts in the same position on the Syncro as the standard 2WD Vanagon. Sorry, no Syncro in the driveway to compare to yet.
