Barring locating him, jack up the assend of the van and crawl under it. When you are comfortable, lay the new sender cum new seal ring close at hand. Just as the old sender is free of its threads, quickly plug the hole with the thumb of your free hand. Then, with all the deftness which you can muster, replace your thumb with the new part. If you are not confident to do this without error, it is prudent to have a minion standing by to chase the sealing ring when it drops off and rolls away or to assuage any other screw-up. George |
