Maybe you can help me. My headlights, heater and windshield wipers stopped working. Took it down to my local VW mechanic and he said it was a switch in the ignition and he would have to remove the steering column and yada yada , 1 hour labor. He proved it to me because when he turned the key slowly to just the right spot and jiggled it the accessories and headlights came on. Is he referring to the ignition switch or some other switch? Because if it is the ignition switch, I am thinking about just following my Haynes manual for the 90' Carat AT and doing it myself. Please help, thanks. -----Original Message----- From: Brent Berisford [mailto:bberisford@COMCAST.NET] Sent: Friday, February 07, 2003 12:02 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Removing the iginition switch
When drilling the hole for the igintion switch removal do I drill the hole from the top or bottom? Someone told me the side that had the part# stamped on it. Let me know Thanks Brent |
