The comments for and against using the vanagon fuel pump with the CIS system are interesting. Mine now seems to be working pretty well, though I do have to crank for a bit to get it to start when warm (may have control pressure regulator problem.) I do have the pump/accumulator/filter setup from which I pulled the 1986 Golf GX motor. If I'm feeling adventurous one day I may stick it in just to see if it makes a big difference in running. One comment raises a question for those that have been using the vanagon pump. How long have you been running your conversion and have you had any pump related problems?
