I'm not impressed by power windows and such. But, nowadays, when one finds a rustfree Syncro he takes it as it comes. My distrust of power accessories was recently validated when my power mirrors stopped working. I ferreted out a broken conductor which turned into three then into seven before the mirrors were fixed. Curiously, all the conductors were broken at the same place within the boot as cleanly as if they had been cut apart. Not wanting to cut the boot, I fished new conductors through the boot and the wiring harness in the door. It is not the easiest wire pulling task but it is perfectly doable and it spares that vital rubber boot. Once a pull cord is fished through, a cord is pulled along with the conductor so that there is always cord ready to pull the next conductor. When done, I left a pull cord in place just waiting, not hoping, for another wire to break. George |
