I started the thread. I thank all the List Membership for their input on how to construct a hyperbolic curve. It has been educational to me. The very best referral to a web site depicting how to get it done was submitted by Loren Busch. The one thing that was never addressed anywhere in any of the information was how to predict the hyperbolic curve given a specific width and depth to the curve, i.e., 22" wide, 8 " deep. Perhaps it was there but my own weakness in the math didn't allow me to see it.What would have been nice would be to come up with a tool that would allow one to set dimensions, insert a pencil, and draw the curve. Woodworkers sometimes have such devices, but alas, I don't happen to know any. Anyhow, it was a great exercise. Thanks a bunch. But now please lets lay it to rest!! John Rodgers |
