Hello, Thanks for the additional advice. The problem still comes and goes, but there is very little drag now. All gears are affected. I think that the only solution is to tear it down and replace parts. At 130,000 miles on the original clutch, I shouldn't complain. My biggest issue at the moment is trying to avoid further damage, such as wearing out the synchros. I would prefer to do the work myself, but I am swamped with other stuff to do, and until I get my ElectraVan fixed, I'm short (no pun intended) one car. So, I think that I will have to drive another few hundred miles the way it is, or pay to have someone else fix it. Thanks again for the advice. Mike Phoenix, AZ '84GL |
