I haven't noticed any change in performance and/or torque on mine. My understanding also is that the ECM will monitor however much air is coming in and adjust the fuel/air mixture appropriately, so yes, it can handle it. Theoretically, the easier the movement of combustion components in and out of your engine, the better your horsepower will be, but I haven't noticed a difference.
