If you buy a vehicle in the UK then you will be buying a right ahnd sretting wheel car... this you will not be able to sell anywhere except for perhaps South Africa, if you get that far.

More practical would be to buy a "normal" Westy from Germany, and then sell it to me, in Austria when you are finished with it!!!

Seriously though, you may want to consider bringing your USA spec Vanagon over on a RoRo boat, and driving it here for the 6 months. The only thing that you would have to be sure of is that the registration is valid in the USA throughout the duration of the trip... and that you have an International driver's license, as well as insurance. You can leave the USA plates on and drive with style!

I think that you can do this for up to a year (I know that the reverse is possible for a year... meaning a European vehicle for a year in the States).

Apparently a few list members have already bought German VW busses... so you may want to ask them what the good sources are, besides the always interesting, but risky ebay.

Good Luck!

IMPORTANT!!! In order to reply to me, you must have the word "FISH" somewhere in the subject line of the email. Otherwise it goes directly in the trash.
