Subject: heater box: 8 clips v. 11 (dumb question)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

So I just got my new heater fan from Bus Depot and I'm all primed to take the dash out...and between 3 local VW dealers there are only 8 clips to put the heater box back together and it'll be 7-10 days to get 3 more. Neither Bus Depot nor Vanagain show this part number (321 819 059) available. Now, I know this is a dumb question (mind you I haven't seen the thing myself yet) but..

is it at all reasonable to put the thing back together with 8 clips?

or, is this same part found on Jettas, Rabbits, Foxes, etc that are plentiful at my local junkyard?

just hoping...because (wahhhh!) I dont wanna wait another week
