Thanks to all who replied to my 84 not firing, I put a new temp II sensor
in it last night after the van cooled off for 3 hours and it started right
up first try . I went on a test run for about 20 minutes ,came back shut it
down, let it sit 5 minutes then I started the engine on and off 4 times at
1 minute intervals well I thought great fixed well will see . Went back in
the house came back out to try 20 minutes later and it started right up
shut it off. Thought that the problem was fixed got up this morning  to go
to work 25 miles get to work engine runs good all the way there , shut off
go back after 1 hour no start , funny thing is as your starting the engine
it would make quick lockups like bang and bang  and then only sometimes.
This reminds me of a sort of vapor or fuel lock  up. But it does start
after sitting for a good number of hours. The van was sitting for over two
years in my garage , after about 18 months  this started happening when I
would go out to start it and let it run. I have replaced all tuneup parts
all filter etc. Cleaned almost every connection I could find , Maybe is the
problem the fuel regulator or fuel overload problem ? The van has been on
the road this way for a month now.  Also my gas milage is bad , Appreciate
any advice on what to check .  Thanks   Hans.
