Subject: it was just a small leak on the left head in the front of the head
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

I have been observing a coolant loss for several years. small but on the increase. I had removed the pushrod tube cover to determine that it always leaked after shutdown on short runs left head in the front. Think that perhaps I could just tighten the head a bit to solve the problem I checked the compression before the attempt. left front 120, left rear 125 and the right side about the same. I remove the cover to the headbolts and check the clearance on the valves. Two turns beyond flush. Piece of cake. Tighened all but the two headbolts next to the injectors as those bolts were so much work to get to. New compression is 0 left front 0 left rear so what happened? Speculation please as I will be removing the left side soon. Also can you explain why the right side plugs are burning rich in this condition. It is the science of the vanagons. God bless the lives of those who are no longer with us because the tradegedy of the Columbia. A God of all believers and if you do not believe in god simply our blessing. gary
