About long term storage, I parked my van for over three years and in order
to put it back on the road I had to change two of the fuel injectors which
had become clogged.
There were no other issues so you should be OK.
I also changed the fuel filter and the fuel although there did not seem to
be anything bad about the fuel so I don't know if this was necessary.
Oh, the brake fluid, change that.
I also just for the heck of it changed my broken shifter and associated
plastic parts, the transmission and front diff, all my gears, and the
wheels, and the tires and VC and clutch and skidplate and some CVs and the
front brake pads, caliphers, and rotors and sawed off a lot of my
wheelwells and installed a front diff lock and changed fuel lines and did
some rustproofing and changed all my springs and front shocks and also my
rear trailing arms to 16" type. Changing the front lower control arm
bushing swap was exciting or at least interesting (no I don't have the new
ones yet). All I have to do now is a few heavy wacks on the back of my
front wheelwells with a sledgehammer and I will be done
with.....uhhhh....with about 60% of what I am doing here, but at least I am
on the road http://users.rcn.com/derekdrew/vanagon/images/dereks245_75_16.jpg
