This isn't a Vanagon List, it's a vanagon owner's list. Owner's that live and work in the United States and all over the world. Owner's that drive Vanagons (and other VW's), other cars, motorcycles, kayaks, roller-blades, etc. They like to talk to other people about their experiences in, around, and about VW's as well as many other topics. They reach out to fellow enthusiasts and offer help and support with something that we all like...Vanagons...and life. If the conversation around the watercooler (wasserboxer) happens to take a turn some people don't agree with, by all means, they are encouraged to speak up. Free speech lets them do exactly that. I am on three or four web-lists and NONE of them get as bitchy as this one. I like to think VW owners are a pretty laid back bunch of people, but it seems like Vanagon owners are ultra-sensitive. Oh, well, must have something to do with blown head gaskets and overheating engines. Seems kind of appropriate. Splitty owners are always a little slower than the rest of the group, bay window owners are kinda goofy looking, and air-cooled Vanagon owners.....well, I don't know, they are a pretty small bunch only born in a three year window... ...necessary retraction and apology... If I offended anyone, please accept my apologies(unless you realize that you were in fact being a bit up-tight). It is Friday, and for some reason, the rules change on Fridays. I don't know why, it just seems to be an acceptable exception. To set the record straight: I thought the song/poem/rhyme about Iraq was funny and witty. I can't believe the flight attendant was repremanded for using the "einie meany miney" rhyme. I have a hard time following the "fish" jokes, but I read them anyway. I have owned all the above VW's (and then some), so the comments were about me..let's say. Lighten up Francis. Humbly, Ward
