Tight? How do you determine tight? I pull on the belt and the engine turns
over. {someone said that would determine tightness/rightness} But its still
lose enough to squeal like a pig. I put some motor oil on. It goes away.
Then later it comes back. Haven't tried the parafin yet. Michaels should be
a better deal than the grocery store (four dollars). Maybe they're too lose.
Bentley doesn't say a word about deflection of the belts (though they do
mention deflection for an air cooled vanagon on page 19.3 Fig 1. "10-15 mm
in middle when pressing firmly with thumb"). Lose is better than than too
tight isn't it? Bearings.
