It's a VERY good idea (I do this with my tools, computers, cameras etc too). Do it in such a location that the thief CANNOT get at it to remove the engraving, and engrave deeply (a Chicago Pneumatic AirScribe is ideal). However this does not mean the item won't be stolen, but it DOES give SOME chance of later retrieval or even that almost-nonexistent thing, justice. -- Andrew Grebneff 165 Evans St, Dunedin 9001, New Zealand <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Seashell, Macintosh, VW/Toyota van nut |
