Slow or no starter motor turning- Aim the Vanagon on the downhill- Find a coupla friends- strangers to help push- Let your 9 year old drive and let him pop the clutch- No more starting flat spots or dead spots when turning that engine over.. Those days are over-- 1. installed the relay- on my back in the deep freeze took abt 45 mins- on a fresh piece of cardboard and with a dimming flashlight. on a lift in the warm should take 15 mins.. also 2. Heavy primary cable from positive battery to starter was hanging on by threads of that very thick cable-- spliced in a new cable end-lotsa duck tape a piece of inner tube as addl insulation..
