Subject:   diesel droning

Hi all

Got the TDD on the road, got to do some shift linkage work, etc. But it drones pretty loudly. Even holding my hand over the airbox intake makes it quite a bit quieter (while it idles, not while I'm driving). Right now the box is taking air in from the passenger side cubby right in front of the passenger tail light with no piping, etc. I need some sort of "muffler" to stick in the cubby, or perhaps after the air box?

Someone here recently was working with this. What did you do that worked and what did you do that didn't?
